I haven’t used any textbooks at all so far in medical school. A lot of medical students don’t use them, so it goes to show textbooks aren’t a must-have. I realised pretty early on in medical school that I’m not really a “textbook person” – I often find they go into too much depth which can be quite confusing. There’s also tonnes of amazing online resources available that cover exactly what you need to know in a very engaging manner and are very easy to understand. So far in medical school all my learning has been through lectures and online resources.
In terms of resources I swear by, one particular one springs to mind and that’s TeachMeAnatomy.info. Such an invaluable resource and a complete lifesaver for years 1 and 2. I learnt ALL my anatomy from here – the level of depth was perfect and it covered every single topic that was needed over those first two years.
