Been trying to overcome the post-holiday blues. Never been out of the country for so long before and never been to a place I’ve loved more so the blues are hitting hard this time. 🇦🇪 Everyone always talks about Dubai, but Abu Dhabi is the winner for me, beats Dubai a thousand times and over 🥰 it has everything Dubai has to offer, but is calmer, more traditional and is a place that’s just so easy to live in. Felt truly like home for the time we were there
Short weekend Dubai trip over and back now in Abu Dhabi now. I do prefer Abu Dhabi to live in but Dubai was a dream, especially this stunning view. 🏙 In our short stay we spent hours just looking out of this window - somehow this view was better than the view from the Burj Khalifa. Definitely going to miss it! 🥺
As you may know, I’m currently on my medical elective in Abu Dhabi. I should’ve probably made a post explaining what an elective is earlier, but better late than never. So let’s answer 2 of the commonly asked general elective questions.
Currently in Abu Dhabi, UAE for my elective. 🇦🇪 The hospital is stunning, literally looks like a fancy hotel over a public hospital. We’ve only been here 3 days but have already noticed so many differences to the approach to healthcare here compared to the UK. It seems like the healthcare system here is almost a perfect idealistic version of the NHS: completely free for citizens, yet very well funded and resourced with specialists coming from all areas of the globe to deliver care.
Here are some relaxed revision vibes for you all 💫 I feel like over the years I’ve become so much more relaxed about exams and revision in general. I feel like stressing out doesn’t help and it’s just not worth completely shutting down your life twice a year for exam season. It’s all about ✨balance✨ and I think I’ve been doing pretty well maintaining that right through.
So I ordered something new and I’ve spent the last week playing around with it. 📷 It’s basically a digital camera which you can use like a disposable film camera - thought it was such a cool concept! I was looking to buy some disposable cameras for the summer, thought it’d be a bit of fun, but they are so expensive for the limited number of photos you can take. This camera is by the brand @papershootcamera and it works like a disposable camera so you can’t see the photos right after you’ve taken them, but you get unlimited shots! 🤩
Just over two weeks and exams will be over which is absolutely mind boggling to me! I am nowhere near ready and motivation has been seriously lacking this semester. 😭
