I don’t know about the most effective way, but I can tell you what I did…
For Biology, the practicals weren’t as important for Chemistry so I didn’t focus on them too much at all. I didn’t make any notes, instead all I did was read through the practical experiments that we did in class. That was enough for me as the main focus in Biology wasn’t really the practical element. To get higher marks I found it more worthwhile to focus on learning the content really well and memorising everything really well as that would allow me to do better in the essay (which holds most of the marks).
